The past couple of years has seen significant development in the area of rail cybersecurity.

In an age where technology intertwines with every aspect of our lives, the railway industry has become more vulnerable to cyber threats than ever before. Railways, vital to a nation’s economy and to the functioning of societies globally, face unprecedented challenges in ensuring the safety and security of their systems.

We are excited to introduce Cervello Compliance, the world’s first rail cybersecurity compliance dashboard. Cervello Compliance examines your rail environment, policies, protocols, access control measures, and network configurations, to ensure that your railway follows the compliance framework relevant to your region, including TSA Security Directives, IEC 62443, TS 50701, CCoP Directive, and more.

Governments and regulation authorities have been particularly invested in the cybersecurity posture of rail organizations in the past few years. Europe’s first cybersecurity framework specifically protecting rail transportation was only published by Cenelec in July 2021. In the US, the first TSA Security Directive for rail was released at the end of December 2021, and renewed less than a year later, in October 2022, to properly reflect the needs of the industry.

Cervello Compliance allows you to follow the progress of your cybersecurity posture as it pertains to your region’s compliance standard, assign tasks to relevant security team members, and follow clear instructions to allow you to confidently abide by the necessary compliance requirements. Finally, we made sure to include the highly requested “evidence” feature. This provides your teams with the ‘evidence’ they need to prove compliance and supplies relevant stakeholders in-depth information and analysis on security incidents.

Additionally, Cervello Compliance enables security teams to generate audit-ready compliance reports in seconds, with a verification checklist, information on compliance gaps, and detailed next steps that include instructions on where and how to close the gaps. You can find the Compliance widget with a quick view on compliance level status in the Cervello Management Console’s homepage.

Needless to say, rail cybersecurity compliance is a field that is still developing, and we are proud to be at the forefront making it easier for rail organizations to stay one step ahead. It is Cervello’s mission to provide rail organizations the tools they need to be able to focus on delivering safe and reliable transport. We are pioneers in the field of rail cybersecurity, and with compliance it is no different.
